Catalog data: BuildBay vehicle dataset (US market).
- 4.3 V6: EcoTec3 V6 — direct injection, shares architecture with the L83/L86 V8s.
- 5.3 V8: Dynamic Fuel Management — 17 cylinder patterns rather than AFM's single V4 mode.
- 6.2 V8: DFM 6.2. Subject to a 2021–2024 bearing-related recall on some builds.
- 2.7T I4: TurboMax — integrated exhaust manifold, active thermal management. Torque rose from 348 to 430 lb-ft for 2022.
- 3.0 I6 diesel: Inline-six light-duty Duramax, aluminium block. Belt-in-oil oil-pump drive is the maintenance item.
- 3.0 I6 diesel: Second-generation 3.0 Duramax (2023+) — new pistons, steel-reinforced rockers, higher injection pressure.
Owning and working on it
- The 2.7 TurboMax four is rated 310 hp with an integrated exhaust manifold and active thermal management. Its torque rose from 348 to 430 lb-ft for 2022.
- The 5.3 L84 and 6.2 L87 V8s both run Dynamic Fuel Management. The catalog notes the 6.2 is subject to a 2021 to 2024 bearing-related recall on some builds; check a specific VIN rather than assuming either way.
- The 3.0 Duramax inline six has an aluminium block and a belt-in-oil oil-pump drive, which is the maintenance item to know about. The second-generation LZ0 from 2023 brings new pistons, steel-reinforced rockers, and higher injection pressure, rated 305 hp and 495 lb-ft.
- Three automatics across the run: the 6L80, 8L90, and 10L80.
- Rear drive or part-time four-wheel drive with low range, across all three cab styles.
