Early access & beta
BuildBay is currently offered as an early-access / beta product. That means:
- features may change, break, or be removed, and the Service may have bugs or downtime;
- data you enter during beta could be reset or lost, and we don’t promise any level of availability or uptime;
- you are responsible for keeping your own backups — Settings → Backup exports a full copy of your garage anytime.
The Service
BuildBay helps you record and organize information about your vehicles and share build pages if you choose to. The Service is provided on an ongoing, evolving basis and may change over time.
Your account
You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use the Service. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Your content
You keep all ownership of the content you add to BuildBay (your “Content”), including vehicle records and photos. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your Content solely to operate the Service for you — for example, to sync it to your account or to render a showcase page you publish. When you publish a build, you make the details you selected publicly available at that link until you unpublish it.
You are responsible for your Content and confirm you have the rights to it (including any photos you upload), and that it does not violate the law or anyone else’s rights.
Feedback
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, or upload others’ private or personal information without permission;
- upload malware, attempt to breach security, or disrupt the Service;
- scrape, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service; or
- misrepresent your affiliation or impersonate anyone.
Not professional or safety advice
BuildBay is a record-keeping and organizational tool, not a source of professional automotive, mechanical, safety, or legal advice. Maintenance schedules, service reminders, cost figures, readiness indicators, part suggestions, and any other outputs are informational only — they are based on the data you enter and general references, and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are not a substitute for your vehicle manufacturer’s guidance, a qualified mechanic, or a professional inspection.
You are solely responsible for your vehicles — including their maintenance, safety, roadworthiness, any modifications you make, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, emissions rules, and warranty terms. Always consult a qualified professional before performing or relying on any maintenance or modification.
Third-party services
The Service uses third-party providers (such as Supabase, Google, Vercel, and the NHTSA vPIC VIN service). Your use of features that rely on them may also be subject to their terms, and we’re not responsible for third-party services.
Availability & changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time. We aim to keep your data safe, but — as noted above — you are responsible for keeping your own backups.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, [Operator legal name — founder to set] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or vehicle damage, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
Governing law
