Vehicle maintenance log template
Print it and keep it in the glovebox, or use the CSV in any spreadsheet app. One row per service; the columns below are the minimum that makes a log worth keeping.
What each column is for
- Date
- When the work was done — not when you remembered to write it down.
- Odometer
- Mileage at the time of service. The single most useful number on the sheet.
- Service or repair
- What was done, specifically: "front pads + rotors", not "brakes".
- Parts and fluids
- Brands, part numbers, fluid specs and quantities. Future-you will search for these.
- Cost
- Parts and labor. Even rough numbers add up to an honest total.
- DIY or shop
- Who did the work. Shop name if it went out.
- Notes
- Torque values you used, what you noticed, what to watch next time.
